Changelog 0.24.0

Well this is happening soon, just waiting one of the packets to upload.

Changelog:

  • Day 24 fully implemented
    - Both branches are available. I do recommend starting from the end of day 23 if you aren't on Li's path. On Li's path you should be safe to start from the save you were prompted to make.
  • 698 Renders (320 in 23.5 and 378 with 24.0)
  • Implemented "Characters" menu for those who need reminder about the characters, this is still work in progress.
  • Pile of grammar and spelling fixes (Thanks to Adry Lemon and ShaddyModda)

So the releases. This update will be bit special case but more of that in the actual release post.

Progress 28.06.2021

I'm annoyed, I'm close on finishing the update and yet at the same time I'm not quite there. I'm rendering the final bits of the final scene as we speak, it isn't as fast as I would hope but it could be worse. I'd say the magical number 60, once again, but that isn't entirely accurate either.

Anyway, running tests and doing test builds while rendering, and writing in between. Speaking of writing, day 30 is going better now, although next few days I'm more focused on the release rather than writing so it's slower. But still in schedule in that front.

The other side of the portal... that probably makes more sense when you see the images preceding this. And probably the only relatively non spoilerish image I have from the past 3 or so days.

Public Release of 0.23.5

 

Tested and played through few times, all the saves worked. But that doesn't mean things didn't slip by. So as always, if there is any issues please report them on discord (https://discord.gg/GJK5kfKypg). Thank you, and please enjoy!

Unfortunately, mac version is untested.

Update from 0.23.0 to 0.23.5 (178.3 MB)

Extract the files from the zip-file in to game folder and overwrite the gui.rpa, images.rpa and scripts.rpa.

If the file permissions are wrong on the Mac version and it won't run. To fix it, you need to open a terminal and run:

sudo chmod -R 755 /Applications/Sorcerer.app

Progress 25.06.2021

 

300 renders in and still not done, but I did say that both branches have enough content for one full day on their own, roughly. But anyway, 2 scenes left to render, however they are fairly large ones, and one of them needs 3 sets to be built.
 
Beyond that, as I said earlier, the day is coded in sans the images, doing the first round of proofreading over the weekend, once I hammer one of the scenes out. And first round of testing is done. Not that it is difficult, it's just ensuring the game launches and playing until the images run out. >.>
 
On writing side, still on day 30 but that isn't that surprising, but it's going to places.
 
And once again I'm kind of struggling on what I would show here, there are certain events that I don't want to spoil. 
And then it is confrontation time. There are 5 variants of this singular scene, depending on what you have chosen. Did I need there to be 5 variants? No, but why not?

And it isn't easy being a demon hunter. Might have been able to fit couple more in this scene but that would have made camera angles rather annoying.

Progress 21.06.2021

 

So Monday... Right, "stuck" on doing some variations, but I should have the remaining of them sorted today. Famous last words there I recon. Beyond that, roughly 1/3rd left of the script to render, at least if we go by lines. 

But that being said, the day is programmed in outside of the images, with maybe needing a tweak here and there. And proofreading but that happens later.

Writing, day 30 is under way, more or less,  a bit tired due to the heat so I'm not really the most active person at the moment. I shouldn't complain how it is going, but then again I'm never happy how writing goes.


Yeah I haven't forgotten the Gorgons despite Fiery Fangs being more in front in this part of the VN but Gorgons will be there as well.

 And just for fun, the stuff I do to get myself in to more creative mindset. And yeah I like doing aliens, even though they can be bit pain as there isn't suitable skins nor morphs to make that many unique ones, but I make do. Garrett and Chiel are there just because I could >.>

Progress 18.06.2021

 

Bleh set building. It's kind of funny, at the same time I love building sets, but I also hate it, usually when I have this image in my head and I don't have the right pieces to make that image to come true. And I hate when sets messes with my render settings without telling me... Annoying. Anyway.
 
So where are we? I'm about halfway through the scenes for the remaining branch and it's going decently, just set building takes it's time unfortunately. Luckily I've had the foresight to buy certain utilities that makes things easier to deal with, like turning props to instances automatically instead manually redoing their placing.
 
As for writing, been busy with RL stuff over the week so it has been stalled a bit. But! Regardless I'm starting the day 30 over the weekend so it's actually fairly good, overall.
 
 
So yeah, there are more with the Fiery Fangs on the other branch, simply because it makes sense for them to be there. And because Monday was a release day, there is a second preview... with explosion.
 
... That's one way to open a door.

  • First half of day 24 is implement.
    - Li's branch is available right now.
    - Players are told to save before the branching choice happens if on Li's branch. Those who didn't chose to meet Li on day 5 you might want to wait until full version.

Progress 11.06.2021

 

And time to quote the magical number, 60, that is roughly the renders I have left to do for the first half of the update. The first half is programmed in and mostly tested, there is some tweaking here and there and couple re-renders to do or fixes to renders, but that's then.
 
Writing is surprisingly right where I want it to be at the moment, finishing up the day 29 by the time this half is out.
 

And then some more Li and her friends. Don't worry the other half, which you get to chose is anything but Li. 
 
But running dForce on all the characters has been... interesting to say the least. And posing. And yes, 6 characters on the screen at the same time in single pass pushing my graphics card to the limits.

Progress 07.06.2021

 

I made decent headway during the weekend, and I'm roughly half way of the final scene of the Li's branch. And speaking of branching, after having some thought I'm going to allow the choice, but only if you were on Li's branch originally. Just need to tie the whole thing to a new variable so I can continue things the next day more easily.
Writing. I made decent progress it over the weekend, not exactly where I wanted to be but close enough, so as long as everything goes smoothly I should be finishing the day 29 before the first half of the update is done. And again probably jinxed it but eh.
 
And more stuff with Li, yeah that's the theme of the first half of the update... And just because of that a bonus image.

Progress 04.06.2021

 

And a week has gone by and time for some progress. As said day 24 is branching day, and I have 3 scenes left of the first half. Well the last scene is rather long.

But that being said, I am considering offering a choice instead of automatically putting you either on Li's branch or the other branch. Although the offering the choice negates the choice on day 5. But adding something unique for that means bit more writing.

So how about that writing? Day 29 is underway, and if everything goes as planned I should be able to write most of it over the weekend. But saying that I probably jinxed it, so we see how it goes.

 There are days days when the lightning is just right. And yes, someone is angry.
