Progress 26.02.2024

Hello everyone.

It has been good weekend overall. Rendering is in a good shape, I have two, two and half scenes maybe depends how you count them left. 

And the same goes for writing, I'm not entirely where I would want to be, but I'm not that far of from it. But it looks like that I have a dozen or so renders that will take ages to do so... writing ahoy!


I don't know why, but I like these two renders, a lot. Yes there is a mix of Rielle and some more Nisha in this update, then in 10 there is more of everyone else. It is a bit juggling act but I wanted most of the main cast together relatively quickly so there is time to build them up. Anyway. Back to rendering.

Progress 23.02.2024

Hello everyone!

It has been interesting week overall. Rendering is going alright, I'm pretty much where I should be despite my doubts since one of the scenes took longer than I thought it would. But it has few more renders than normally as I'm experimenting with a few things. But all is good, probably will take a day or two longer to render. Not that it matters much.

Writing is okayish shape, just little problem solving has gotten in the way but it in decent shape overall, but I'll recon I get some more writing time in over the weekend as always.

Hmmm... yeah... Okay. I mean... Right, honestly I'm not sure what to say here. It shouldn't be too surprising to see this despite everything. Although there is something else before this and a time skip, but that's kind of given.

And then just something for fun really.

Progress 19.02.2024

And good morning once again everyone!

I'm about 50% done with uploading 0.8.0 so the release cycle starts relatively soon.

And that being said, started rendering 0.9.0 and writing update 13. Man, these first of the week progress posts are short when a new update is being rendered.

And since we are still within heavy spoiler stuff, have another story concept/daily motivational render. There are several "paths" open that I can take, right now I opted to go the north. Still, these are never done without some purpose and thought behind, there is still a long road ahead of us and there needs to be other places to visit. Especially now that certain secrets will be uncovered... in the future updates. Anyhow back
to rendering...

Progress 16.02.2024

Good morning everyone.

So update 0.8.0 is done, sent to tested and proofread, you know the usual things. I have some additional coding tasks ahead, but it's on schedule for the normal release pace, assuming the net holds up.
 
And that means I get to write, and I'll start rendering 0.9.0 on Monday. But as for the writing itself? It's in a good state, I'm happy with it. Taking a bit odd twists and turns occasionally. Although I'm fairly certain I need to edit it since there might be few issues rendering it. Eh, I'll worry about that when I get there.
 
So that was it in all shortness. Thus, couple concept renders since I don't want to spoil things. These are more along the lines of what might come and how to introduce a character.
It has been a while since I've rendered one of the snow elves. It's starting to be more important to think about this since they should be following the Naga's. And speaking of the Nagas, had to do few changes to them. Nothing drastic, they still look the same, just tweaks here and there to make them more unique like different eye colours. Although had to change a skin of one of them cause I had issues with it, tried to match it as close as possible to the old one. Anyway... moving on.

And then we go to the complete opposite direction. This was actually titled "The Last Guardians of an Ancient Relic" while I was doing it. This isn't relevant as is at the moment, but it is one of the possible avenues I'm exploring where the story might lead. There are hooks in place to go "back" to the great desert if need be.

Progress 12.02.2024

Hello!

Rendering, I have one scene left. Not that it actually means much since it is the most complex scene in the update so it will take a few days to render.

Writing is in a good state. Right now my problem is what scene I put and where, so it feels flowing smoothly. Although the extended sleep I've got this weekend has given some rather interesting ideas. Just need to see are they are feasible to model...

This update will give some insights about Ayaka. There are things that need to wait to be further explained, but they aren't too far off,. Just to say, this update will be one of those life changing points for her. Mostly, depending on your choices, she might even stop lying to herself...

This one is called sorrow. Iraea is reflecting the past and how different things could have been...

Progress 09.02.2024

Hello all.

It is Friday and a progress post time. Rendering is in a decent shape, I'm happy how that has gone so far, but the more difficult tasks are ahead as usual. Although amusingly enough, the whole update consists of five scenes. Usually there are more, but this time it just happened.

Writing is in a phase, again. And I'll write a bit more over the weekend than I did during the week. It's also in okay shape and I know what I need to write. Just need to use the laptop for it, too many distractions on the big computer.

So... these two once again doing something. I guess you could call it a minor spoiler, but about what, exactly? There is a kind of interesting revelation in this update, and it isn't in this scene. I should take some time to make some behind the scenes posts one of these days, but... I always feel that it is more important to push the story forward. Anyway...

And then. The year of the Dragon. And it was so worth getting the headache from the background blur to make this. Also amusing that staff was just released to day... right in time. I like VDB's in general (the effect) but they tend to increase the rendering time quite a lot. Why this render? I felt like it in all honesty... Although, originally this was supposed to have a large dragon in the background, but I wasn't happy with Daz Dragon 3. Just couldn't get it right for this render. And I hope they make a new one soon. Anyway, have a great weekend you all!

Progress 05.02.2024

Hello everyone.

TL;DR: Update 0.7.0 is being uploaded, 0.8.0 is being rendered, and 0.12.0 is being written... and that's about it. 

Okay, a bit longer than that. Uploading is in progress. It will take a day or two to get there, net is acting up a bit but release will be relatively soonish as long as no disasters hit.

Rendering is a bit slow, it is "build day" so there are a ton of things that I needed to do so it's progressing but it's half speed at best, not that it matters anyway, things will get done regardless.

And as for writing, 11 ended up being larger than normally, not as many choices, but that's bound to happen now and then. Especially when you aren't dealing with the companions as much. Honestly update wasn't going to be like this originally, but it isn't the first time things change when I write, nor it will be the last time. But that being said, a couple of doors opened for few things in the future. If the right things were chosen that is.

Then a story concept render for update 11. I will resume with actual game renders on Friday, then I'm not rendering things that would spoil too many things. These concepts helps me in times when I'm can't decide how things will shape, having an idea and having the resources to do the idea are two different things. And of course, they do help with forming new ideas. Or maybe bringing those subconscious thoughts to surface. And so need to change that backdrop... But that's was good to know at this stage and not while doing production renders.

Progress 02.02.2024

So... where was I? Right... Update 0.7.0 was sent to be tested. Today I'll do some minor things, like fixing a render or three. Then probably make few more gods to fill out the codex some more. Honestly not sure what info I should put in it. A bit hard when you know everything... eh. And then I'll write what remains of update 11 over the weekend and start rendering 0.8.0 on Monday. And that's about it for the progress...

And then in time-honoured concept of avoiding spoilers...

One of the story concept renders. ToaM is at the same time easy and a bit more difficult to write than the previous ones. Partially, because there are no limits what I can do. Well, that's not entirely true, there are limits but most of them has to do with how advanced technology is. And because of lack of those limits there are more story concepts floating around than normally. Some are more feasible than others. This one? The elements for it to happen are in place, but have to see when I get there with writing.
