Progress 27.06.2022

 

So Monday once again and time for progress post.

I'm bit overhalf way script wise, 4ish scenes to do so more or less on the schedule here render wise.

And on writing side of things, I took a short break from writing over the weekend, kind of needed it. And the fact that Update 12 took longer than I wanted I'm not where I wanted to, but as I said on Friday, I'll catch up regardless since update 12 will take longer to render.

So over all in positive mood how things are going. 

At times, the best way to hid things is to show them against bright light. You see enough to get the idea... but not too much to spoil surprises. ;)

Progress 24.06.2022

 

Okay then...

I'm not entirely happy how stuff is going, mostly writing, it seems that Update 12 is double the length of regular update. But that being said, I'm on update 13 so... But even though writing it took longer than I wanted so will rendering it so I will catch up with the writing anyway.

So the update 12 will determine, let's say, the level of the certain part of the ending, well it isn't that hard to guess that it will relate to the terraforming. After update 12 we focus mostly on do we get to that ending. So it will probably closer to TRS1 in regards of that the chances of failure are higher than now.

Now rendering, update 9 as it is... that's going actually fairly well. Current scene is taking bit longer than normal rendering but nothing bad. Over all that is the part I'm happy about at the moment.

Well this is somewhat familiar scene for our Admiral... Although the new Mevaar ambassador is there instead of Naelae.

Ugh it's summer time so my net is being pain in the backside, and Mediafire just joined the same category... Secondary mirror will be on gofile until I can figure out what is wrong with the mediafire, and/or my net connection. But then again, uploading to Mega went fine... hmm... ah well.
Also this means that there is no progress post today since well release day. But suffice to say, I'm doing the update 9 renders and slowly moving to update 13 in writing. Update 12 is long. 
Anyway, this update... well you'll have to find out. ;)

Progress 17.06.2022

 

Yay, Friday. Totally excited...

So how I've been doing? Decently I'd say, I have one scene left to render before I do the proofreading build, on that regards I'm on "schedule" with the renders. 60ish left maybe? Give or take a few.

On writing side of things... ehhh... It's going, there isn't that many pages to finish up the update 12. Just brain has been hyperactive this week so the focus hasn't been that great. Every day I've written something (yay) and then brain goes "oohh shiny" then it's doing some other stuff for a bit. But never the less, the writing buffer will remain the same regardless.

Public Release: TRS2 Update 7

 

Tested and played through a few times, all the saves worked. But that  doesn't mean things didn't slip by. So as always, if there are any issues please report them on discord (https://discord.gg/GJK5kfKypg).

Well not really much to say here, really, stuff moving forward as usual. Oh yeah, I'm working on fixing the android replay gallery, most likely will be fixed with udpate 8, sorry for that. But other wise everything worked. Enjoy!

Progress 13.06.2022

 

Hello world! So lots to talk about in away, so let's start with the... rendering.

As I suspected, I'm at halway point of the update 8. Granted I've been doing this for so long that I'm fairly good at estimating it. But at times things throws few curve balls... yes I'm looking at you image that took 2 hours to pose because the original poses just didn't work. Anyway, I have no real complains about the rendering process and it's going well.

Writing, I actaully got a lot of writing done over the weekend, surprisingly so that is also on the schedule, technically bit ahead but that might be just me feeling good about it. ;)

Now, what I wanted to talk about is the update 12. I'm not certain I can fit everything in the "standard" size I've been doing so that might take bit longer to make than normally, but that is something to worry about then. Update 12 is bit different when it comes to the choices made on that day, outside 1 or 2 choices rest will directly affect certain portion of the ending. And there has already been hints where the ending leads and I've already chosen the visuals for it. Sure it's bit more work at that point but it is worth it.

So is it possible to mess up completly? Of course, the "main plot" has 4 stages, which one is failure. But to get that means that you got everything wrong. How, strict I'm going to be with what people get I'm not entirely sure. Do I allow some margin of error or none. Traditionally when it comes to Terminus it's none, but have to see how I feel then.

And that being said...

Doing this update feels weird. 5 and 6 had a lot of fighting so something that is relatively peaceful feels odd.

Progress 10.06.2022

 

Well then, it's Friday and I did stuff.

So rendering, it's bit slow for my liking but the scene I'm doing, well did, had multiple figures to pose so that's always going to be slow. But otherwise I'm heading towards the half way point decently, should be there by Monday, or close enough to it.

Writing of Update 12 is going, have to do a little planning on how I craft the thing overall, maybe take few pages from Sorcerer in how certain things were done. Hmmm... that actually gave me an idea. I'm also planning a small side trip to happen on day 12, not entirely sure will I put choices there or is it just "background scene".

But overall, I'm fairly happy of the progress, planning on doing some heavy writing over the weekend... HAH! That would be the sight to see.

Hmmm, not sure what to write for this, there are few bodies around and Aegis and Nova are on the scene... yeah that will do ;)

Progress 06.06.2022

 

I was debating about doing this progress post considering that the release was recently. But I figured that why not?

Rendering of update 8 has started. Not that it is shocking news or anything really. Although had a bit slow start with it for some reason this morning. Eh it's all good now though, finish up the scene I was supposed to do in few hours anyway.

And writing for update 12 is underway as well. Frankly, I enjoyed doing only writing this weekend and yeah it was worth it over all, might try the same thing after this update. Depending how the writing goes overall.

This could be considered as a minor spoiler, but it isn't nothing that isn't predictable all things considered.

The update 8 starts with a bit of a déjà-vu. One of the reasons why I didn't jump to do TRS2 right after TRS was the environments. Majority of the story happens on the Sentinel station. And it being a space station there is limited variety of things.

Not that it helps that there is limited variety of assets available, namely once you see a corridor it looks the same as all the other corridors. Not that it is exactly cramped on the station or anything. But unlike in TRS1, I do have the option to do "alien worlds" as well now, one such incursion is planned to happen around update 14 if my memory doesn't fail.

Progress 03.06.2022 and Public Release of TRS2 Update 6

 

Today is public release day, you can get it from the post below this!

And now that is out of the way, what's going on? Well it's fairly simple, I have one and half scene about left to render. The update is coded in outside of the images since I already had to shuffle things around once so not fan of doing it again. So 100 renders maybe? Most likely less.

And as writing goes, I'll finish up the update 11 over the weekend as it's just few pages left and clean up. So starting update 12 when I start to render the next update, which is probably on Monday.

Hmmm I really need to start doing more concept stuff that I can show in public messages, there are stuff that I don't want to be spoiled for obvious reasons. Hmm...

Yeah this one will do, have to make a male version somehow, well there are ways so not too concerned about it, skin is the biggest issue as there isn't male version of that particular skin, not that I'm surprised. But UV swap deals with it mostly. 

One of the things, as you have already seen (and I've probably said before) is that I'm trying to add more screen time to more of the characters. Sage has been out there quite a lot, Nova and Aegis not as much but still they have been there. Granted, there are characters that aren't as easy to use as you don't really see an ambassador running in the slums looking for things. So far, I'm happy how things have progressed in that regards. Obviously it helps that I can have more than 4 characters on the screen without resorting to tricks. And that being said, back to rendering a scene that has closer to 100 figures on the screen.

Hello all! Friday... I'm sleepy. No, I've slept relatively decently this week. Anyway, so what's up? I'm putting making the ...
