Progress 29.12.2025

Hello all!

It’s debugging time! That and the builds. Probably need to do fifty builds because I forgot something as usual. But that being said, uploading should start tomorrow as scheduled, assuming I can iron out all the kinks tonight. And as I said the last time, as soon as I have the first set of links up, I’ll make a release post, then update it when more links come "live". And that’s about it, really.

There aren’t that many extra things to show during the final bit. Why? I can’t reach too far into the future since there are plans for ToaM 2. So if I show something now, it might lock me into something that might not make sense. Of course, the ending bit isn’t necessarily canonical or happening "anytime soon", but still. Thus, some bit and pieces that were mentioned during the dialogue parts. However, before anyone gets too excited, I don’t know when a potential sequel might happen. Right. That’s it for today, short and sweet, sort of. Been focusing on finishing everything needed, so there are no extra renders today. Short break and fixing things that broke... yay...

Progress 26.12.2025

 

Hello all!

And back in the saddle. Shocked? Probably shouldn’t be all things considered. So what exactly am I doing? I’m finishing up the... let’s say, meet the newcomers section. There are some variants of them, choices and all that. And, as usual, it is sprinkled with various things that are mentioned during the epilogue. The usual really. The goal is to get all that done by Sunday, or on Sunday at the latest... and by saying that it will be Tuesday. Then, do the builds and upload. That’s the plan, anyway.

And a quick preview of things. Things like Uche’s parents coming and meeting his new bride. While it might be an interesting event to do, it isn’t really crucial as he is a side character. So it makes a bit more sense to show it after the dialogue parts are done.



And more of Mr. Morin, well, I suppose this tells what kind of person he is, answer is, not very liked. To him, the end justifies the means. Am I spoiling something here? No. And I can guarantee that once you see him, you’ll have the same reaction as the poor private investigator... Anyway, short break and more renders! You all have a great weekend!

Progress 22.12.2025

 

Hello all!

... I’m beat. But on the positive side, the update is being handed over to be tested, later than I wanted, but it was a lot of work. So what then? I have a hard deadline when I start to upload. No, I won’t mention when it is because every time I say something regarding time, it will fail. But I do have a plan of starting the release once I have one set of upload links available, for all patrons. Then, as soon as the mirrors are uploaded, I’ll update the post. Well, that’s the plan; now we just wait to see what fails.

Writing? Writing is where it was. I was focused on finishing up the update over the weekend, so, but yeah, it’s fine. Nothing to worry about regarding it.

And since I literally ran out of things to show from the update, well not really, but wouldn’t want to spoil things now would I? So, what’s this? There are a few deeper dives into how the world works in the Shattered Seals setting. I’ll try to incorporate certain glimpses of things that might not initially seem that important for the plot, but they give some background. The gentleman’s name is Orsino Morin. Who is he? Well, you find out really early on in Sorcerer.


And then double pinups, I had to remove the original Friday one since both caught it for... things. Go figure. So Maria again, and Xiu our second water spirit... maybe. Anyway. I’ll have the evening off mostly... still doing some things in the background and taking an earlyish night. And... I’m not sure I make a post on the 24th, so. Merry Christmas to all of you, or Happy Holidays if you prefer. I’ll see you all shortly, well, later this week. And yes, I’ll be taking the usual annual day off ;)

Hello all!

And then there was the final scene, and the usual "what might happen in the future or something" renders, not sure how many of those there are, but they don’t really hamper the things as they don’t necessarily need to be there for testing the main parts since it is just an image sequence. So, tomorrow is coding and at least partial post work. I’m sitting at 2850 renders, minus fixes and a couple random renders. So, I suspect the final count will be around 2700 renders, give or take. Hopefully, I’ll get to send it for testing by Monday.

Writing is going, I haven’t been rushing it, but I’ve been focusing on getting the epilogue done as soon as possible, so more focus has gone into that than into the writing. But that being said, update 5 is nearly finished. Just need to add a few details and a couple of choices that actually matter. One way or the other. I have my buffer anyway, so I’m not rushed.

Koko... This scene was annoying to do, not because of the tails, mind you. Because of the eye flames, actually. I had to re-render a large portion because of them. Not fun...

And again, an urban nighttime render with a police... There is an explanation to it coming. The first part is in update 5, and then a few updates later again. Once I get there. "Realistically" speaking, a lot of supernatural action would happen during night time. Partially because some of the most dangerous beings can only appear during the night, such as vampires. So, I need to find a decent solution of how to light things up enough. Eh, it will work somehow; it always does. If nothing else... magic!

And then our lovely Maria’s turn. Right, I’ll take a short break and then continue rendering. Fingers crossed on that one. You all have a great weekend!

P.S. A render I did earlier this week for something that was said on Discord (for those who aren’t on Discord). Needed to get it out of my head. Yeah, I’ll do a compilation of things by the end of the month... not that I actually have done that many extra renders you guys haven’t seen by now.

Progress 15.12.2025

 Hello all!

Around 2600 renders, 300 to go, roughly. I’m about half a day behind my intended schedule. Had some annoying posing issues and re-rendered a sequence a few times. But that being said, 2 and 3/4 scenes left to do. Yeah, getting there.

Writing is going forward. I’m fairly happy with it. I don’t really have a rush as I’m closer to the end of update 5 so I’ll have the buffer I wanted when I start rendering. And unfortunately, no preview today. I ran out of things that I can put in public posts. The dryads aren’t exactly the most modest. So instead...

Bruce's and Wayne’s one and only weakness... their mother, Martha (yes, I know, but it fits.) It was just an idea that popped into my head last night. So first I had to make the mother. Now that I have Gralla, Vulgu and Krarga, it was easier to make her. Will she appear? I have no idea. I have dozens of characters that I’ve made that has never appeared anywhere, yet. And it is missing one character, mostly because I need to reinstall Daz Dog 8 and it’s addons to fix an issue. Anyway...

And then the calendar renders done in the past week, it has the previous weeks renders as well so newcomers don’t need to find the previous post.

Progress 12.12.2025

Hello all!

And then we are shy under 2400 renders. Minus fixes, obviously. I’m happy for a change, and as long as I can get the scene I’m currently working on done today, I should be on schedule, whatever that might be. Technically, a month late already from what I wanted, but it is what it is. But I probably jinxed it now, so.

Writing? It’s in a good state, again, need to juggle with "Oh, this scene would be good here... oh wait, I need to do that instead." But that’s normal, I suppose. The main plots are running already, and a couple of side plots just need to let them simmer until it is their turn to be in the front again.

And then with the good stuff with Mal, Brynnia and Kaitrin. Probably need to write something in the earlier for not so positive outcomes but yeah. As usual, I generally focus on the good things in the epilogue. It has been a long road, and all of them deserve some warm and fuzzy feelings.

This... this is probably the closest thing I will most likely ever make as "holiday scene." And it isn’t even a scene in the VN. They make little sense unless the story takes place around that time. Which I can guarantee it doesn’t... probably anyway. There isn’t really a set time for it as is. Still, testing the "Christmas" add-on for one of the sets. Just would need to remove the lights and it would be just another suburb during winter.

Tamara... and probably this is about the time when a lot of people are starting to get sick of the holidays. At least until the day itself. And she is sharing the sentiment... sort of. Anyway, short break for me and then more rendering and writing! You all have a great weekend!

Progress 08.12.2025

Hello all!

And then there were 2200 renders... Starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Hypothetically, there are around 600 renders left. Not that bad, right? Right? Well, maybe. Luckily, outside of a few annoying issues with JCM and MCM... those being "Joint Correction Morphs" and "Morph Correction Morphs" playing havoc with posing and things has got more fluid as there has been a lot of practice, more than usual.

Writing? It’s going. There isn’t much to say about it in all honesty, just shuffling things around, trying to find the right spot for the couple hundred things that have been written on the side.


Quick preview that... says absolutely nothing. Unlike other epilogues that seem to happen on a single day, this is built so that it follows more or less "natural" order, so it spreads over multiple days, so to speak.


I spend a lot of time finding environments that I need. I get the idea that I need a basement maintenance corridor for a story segment. Luckily for me, those are environments that are easy to kitbash. Concrete walls, some pipes, fluorescent lights and so on. Or occasionally you get lucky and get a pre-made environment. But those have downsides as well. Corridors like in this case? No problem. A room in a similar style? That might be a bit more difficult.

 

And yay... Susan’s turn. Right, as I promised, the renders I did (including the ones in here) are up to Sunday. Next Monday I’ll put this weeks renders and so on. I’ve been meaning to put together a compilation of the things I do, but I just keep forgetting. It’s one of those things. Anyway, the link:

Progress 05.12.2025

Hello all!

I’m... let’s say I’m mostly happy with how things are going, but I am annoyed at how long it is taking. I had hoped that I would be done by now. And it isn’t like there are issues. I’ve sorted out most of my posing issues since I’ve figured out what works and what doesn’t work, for the most part anyway. Some random mesh deformation happens occasionally that needs to be fixed, but that is usually easy to fix. I’m around 2050 renders at the moment. And unfortunately I’m beyond the point where things would be easy to "split in two". Eh, I suppose it is a consequence of requiring to write and render interactions with thirty-plus characters. I just hope my brain doesn’t enter into crunch mode again.

Writing is going alright, page here and there, constantly progressing. Adding choices is a bit annoying since you are mostly dealing with people who you already know and potentially are in a relationship right from the start, so there is no need to add choices for them. There are choices related to the plot, but it is slightly too early for them to be that meaningful.


 Anor and Sanya. It’s mostly the side characters now as most of the "main cast" is already done, except for one. Well, might give an idea how to do the epilogue in Sorcerer 2.

 

Hobbies. I’ve been meaning to do "what the characters do as a hobby"-renders ever since I did that one with Susan boxing. Just never got around to it, really. And was reminded of it since there were some talks about it. Among other things, Alexander plays the piano, and Mei likes to sing... And speaking of Mei...

 

I’ll post a zip file of the renders I’ve done thus far on Monday and attach it to Monday’s progress post for those of you who aren’t on Discord. Anyway, I hope you all have a great weekend! I’ll take a break soon (after I finish this portion of the renders) and continue rendering...

Progress 01.12.2025

Hello all!

Monday and progress post day! Hooray... getting there. 1850ish renders done, a bit more. Unfortunately, there is still a lot to do. As a guess, the total render count is closer to 2500, and I’m probably underestimating that. On the positive sides the posing has become easier, for now anyway.

Writing? Update 5 is ongoing. I fully expect to have five updates written when I start rendering, most likely, I end up with a three to four pages buffer. Granted, I only had three with ToaM so it’s all good.

Zat. Our friendly Goblin... one of them really. Not sure there is that much to say about this, in all honesty. She is happy and energetic as always.

 

And this is why you don’t mess with a sorcerer doing his thing. You might end up running for your life since he didn’t stop the big demon from emerging... New environmental asset. It’s... sort of usable. If we think from, let’s say, a cultist‘s perspective, cities make the most horrible places unless you want to get caught. So you probably end up either under the city or outside of the city so as not to draw attention. Luckily, I have several sewer assets for those things... Or random warehouse. But yeah, if the opportunity arises, I might be able to do something other than "American major city" visually. More options are always nice.

 

And then it is time... There will be the traditional pinups... or something. Anyway! Short break, and then more rendering!
